Ivanka Trump calls for a 'culture where differences of opinion are respected'

Ivanka Trump has made a surprise visit to a school set-up by Cuban-American rapper and Donald Trump critic, Pitbull.

The president’s daughter paid a visit to the Sports Leadership And Management Academy (SLAM) during a trip to Florida to address trump supporters. The school serves Miami’s Little Havana neighbourhood, whose students Ms Trump met on her visit.

She wrote afterwards on Twitter that both Pitbull’s school, and its students, were “incredible”.“Great visit to SLAM Miami where I met so many incredible students. Each of them are exceptional,” wrote Ms Trump.
“SLAM (and @pitbull) are giving them the opportunity to pursue their dreams and change the world!”

According to the Miami Herald, the senior White House adviser told an audience at SLAM that Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential nominee “opposes school choice”.

But Pitbull has not historically been a fan of the Trump family.Otherwise known as Armando Christian Pérez, Pitbull has previously criticised Mr Trump, whose 2016 campaign he described as “unfortunate” and a “joke”.
The rapper, who has not publicly commented on the 2020 presidential race, criticised Mr Trump in 2016 for running a “joke” campaign. He told reporters: “I think the [Trump] campaign is a joke to be honest with you. I think that it’s unfortunate the way we’re being viewed around the world due to some people’s approaches.”
Mr Trump has made numerous appeals to Latino voters in Florida, where Cuban and Puerto Rican voters make up 44 per cent of the overall Hispanic electorate, according to the Pew Research Center. But, with the Trump campaign once more appealing to Miami-Cubans, Ms Trump stopped by Pitbull’s charter school on Tuesday afternoon.

Students also performed a dance routine for her and former-White House press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who was also present.

“Oh my gosh, you guys are amazing,” Ms Trump was said to have remarked. “I am exhausted just watching you.”

Pitbull, a Miami-Dade County voter, received a mail ballot last week that has not been returned, the Herald reported.
