Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Say “cheese!” Two pups pose avidly for the camera in this oh-so-cute image captured by US photographer Lynn Terry.

The two rescue pit bulls, owned by Kelly Garrison, have become an internet sensation after this image of them in a photo booth went viral.

As the camera flashed, Bumper leaned in to give Willis a rather slobbery kiss.

Speaking to The Huffington Post, Garrison said Terry “got just the perfect trigger time”.

And she said that Bumper is “constantly” puckering up to her male companion.

"She mothers him. She's constantly giving him kisses," she said.

Terry, who has been a professional photographer for over 10 years, first captured two dogs in a photo booth a few years ago. Pit bulls Tucker and Pitunia were the original subjects.

Inspired by the results, this year she set up a Valentine’s Day photo booth shoot in which she captured other smiley mutts, including Willis and Bumper.

And she said pitbulls “make some of the best faces”.

“I have a personal affinity for the breed. They are the underdog and I want to do what I can to change public opinion about the breed,” she told The Huffington Post.

Now, everybody say aah…
