Squirrel with cup stuck on its head saved by brave team of six paramedics

Video has emerged showing the bizarre rescue of a squirrel that found itself in a tight situation.

The rodent can be seen with a plastic cup stuck on its head, jumping erratically in an attempt to dislodge the item.

Emergency responders in Connecticut were alerted to the situation.

The footage shows around six members of Enfield Emergency Medical Services (EMS) assisting while stifling laughter, reacting to what is obviously a unique call-out.

The first rescue attempt did not go to plan with the plucky squirrel evading the grip of two responders.

But, a different tactic proved to be successful. An officer covered the animal with a blanket while his colleague removed the cup, allowing the squirrel to skip away to freedom.

Enfield EMS posted the footage on their Facebook page; and it has been viewed over 100,000 times in three days.
