NRA post 'threatening' video showing man smash 'fake news' TV with a sledgehammer

'Our greatest weapon against the lying #fakenews #MSM is Truth'

America’s gun lobby published a “threatening” video addressed to the mainstream media, which features a man smashing a TV with a sledgehammer in a rebuttal of “fake news”.

Staring down the camera menacingly National Rifle Association (NRA) TV host Grant Stinchfield wears a t-shirt bearing the slogan “Socialist tears” as a news reel plays on a TV in the background .

The clips show newsreaders labelling Donald Trump “a child”, calling the second amendment ”a militia” and saying “certain people shouldn’t have guns”. Others show reporters asking the US President if he is “racist” and saying the press is “under attack”.

Putting on protective goggles, Stinchfield then turns towards the TV and demolishing it with the hammer.

The clip is captioned: “At NRATV, our greatest weapon against the lying #fakenews #MSM is Truth”.

It has been viewed close to 200,000 times, since its release earlier this month, two days before a gunman opened fire on a Florida school and killed 17 people.

Since then students at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland and victims families have been leading a nationwide campaign to ban assault-style weapons in the wake of the massacre.

Survivors confronted NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch at a town hall meeting, calling on her to make the purchase of assault rifles and modifications more difficult.

Admitting the system to buy guns is flawed, she said: “I don’t believe this insane monster should have ever been able to obtain a firearm."

It comes as Mr Trump said he will consider a proposal to arm school teachers in an attempt to prevent mass shootings.
