Mr Chavez is optimistic the treatment in Cuba was successful and plans to continue steering Venezuela toward socialism.
Mr Chavez said he finished his fourth and final round of chemotherapy on Wednesday and feels like he has been "born again".
Following the treatment, Mr Chavez said he underwent a series of medical tests and discussed current affairs with Cuba's former leader, Fidel Castro.
Mr Chavez spoke at Simon Bolivar International Airport shortly after returning to Venezuela from Cuba.
The leftist leader underwent surgery in Cuba in June to remove a tumour from his pelvic region.
