At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Colombian government says a top reputed Colombian drug lord has been captured.

A presidential spokesman says Daniel Rendon was arrested in northern Colombia. Rendon tops Colombia's list of most-wanted suspects.

President Alvaro Uribe has offered up to $2 million for Rendon's apprehension and the capture of three other top suspected Colombian drug traffickers.

Colombian police say Rendon has offered a bounty of $1,000 for each police officer his assassins killed.

Presidential spokesman Cesar Velasquez announced the arrest today.
