The body of a British student who went missing in the Amazon jungle has been found, it was confirmed today.

Olakunle Teniola, 20, disappeared after jumping into a lake in Brazil with a friend on Tuesday.

Only his friend emerged and the body of the Coventry University student was recovered yesterday.

A spokeswoman for the Foreign Office said: "We can confirm the death of a British national in Manaus, Brazil on Tuesday July 12.

"We are providing consular assistance to his family at this very difficult time."
