Two shot in post office raid

TWO men were gunned down as they chased after raiders who attempted rob a post office in Bradford, West Yorkshire, yesterday.

Jim Turner, 47, the postmaster at Heaton who disturbed the two raiders, was shot in the groin as he lay on the ground after being battered round the head. Dale Walsh, 27, a butcher's assistant, was shot in the leg as he turned to flee.

Last night both men were stable in Bradford Royal Infirmary after surgery. Police are hunting the gunmen.
