Maya Angelou has published several collections of poetry including her most recent, On the Pulse of Morning (Virago), which was read at President Clinton's inauguration, and Wouldn't Take Nothing For My Journey Now (Virago). Poems by Maya Angelou will be performed by Sandi Russell in an evening celebration of words and music from African and American women writers, part of the South Bank's Festival of the American South, in The Voice Box, on 30 July at 8pm (box office 071 928 8800).
