John Powell Ward was born in Suffolk. Editor of Poetry Wales magazine in 1975-80, he was also a lecturer in Education at the ECW Swansea for many years. He is the author of The Poetry of R S Thomas among other works and is currently the editor of Seren's Borderlines series. This poems appears in A Certain Marvellous Thing published by Seren Books at pounds 5.95.
