Changes to London's civil court structure are taking place this month. A new listing system, intended to increase efficiency, has been introduced and the Central London Civil Trial Centre is to open on Monday, when a new business list will also be established.

The centre will hear more complex and longer cases referred from the capital's 12 other county courts, enabling them to list short cases more quickly. The business list will provide specialist handling of commercial and business disputes. Next month, the patents county court will transfer to the new centre from Wood Green.
