AN ITALIAN drug addict, who has Aids and has lived on crime and social security since he arrived in Britain almost three years ago, should be deported as soon as possible, a judge said yesterday.

Natale Friggi, 24, appeared before magistrates for drug offences on the first day he arrived in July 1990, an Old Bailey court was told. Since then he had made several more court appearances for dishonesty and drug offences, receiving fines and suspended sentences.

Yesterday, Mr Recorder Michael Stuart-Moore QC remanded Friggi, of Stepney, east London, on bail for reports and for deportation notices to be served, after he admitted using bolt cutters to steal a bicycle chained to railings in the City of London.
