An unwitting lottery winner is sitting on an unclaimed £1 million fortune, operator Camelot said today.

The lucky man or woman bought the ticket from a vendor in central Bedfordshire, but players across the whole country are being urged to check and double check their slip of paper.

If no-one comes forward to claim the prize, the cash will go to the National Lottery's Good Causes fund to be distributed to charities and organisations across the UK.

The prize relates to the EuroMillions draw on July 9 2010.

For every EuroMillions line played, ticket-holders in the UK automatically receive a raffle code.

The winning code to look for is ZSW270497. To date, no-one has come forward as the ticket holder.

Whoever is in possession of the ticket has until 5.30pm on January 5 2011 to make a claim.

If not, it will be added to the £24 billion already raised as part of the Good Causes fund.

A second prize of £194,239 is also still up for grabs.

It relates to a Lotto draw on July 3 in which the winning numbers were 8, 31, 37, 43, 44, 48, with bonus ball 14.

The ticket-holder - also from central Bedfordshire - matched five numbers and the bonus ball.

A National Lottery spokesman said: "We're desperate to find both these mystery ticket-holders and unite them with their winnings - these amazing prizes could really make a huge difference to somebody's life."

Players are advised to check clothing, wallets and the back of the sofa for the missing ticket.

"We have the champagne on ice and our fingers are crossed that both the lucky winners come forward to claim wins," a Camelot spokesman added.
