A six-year-old girl who was snatched by a carjacker in London has been found safe and well, according to police.

Beatrice Felicia was sitting in the back of her father's car in Leyton High Road, east London, when a man jumped in and drove off on Tuesday evening.

Her father had been trying to sell the car to the man when he jumped in with Beatrice in the back around 18:30.

The brown VW passat car had last been seen heading towards the Chadwell Heath Area. However it was unclear whether the car had also been found by police.

Police said the man who took the car is described as Asian, in his 30s, with short dark hair and a dark beard. He was wearing a dark jacket with white fur lining on the hood and green Nike TN trainers.

Detectives from Waltham Forest police are leading the investigation and appealed for anyone with information to call 999.
