Black Friday is causing mayhem across the UK as shoppers fight over the best bargains.
Several supermarkets had to be closed because of overcrowding in the early hours of this morning and at least three people have been arrested so far.
Police were called to three Tesco stores in London after reports of confrontations in heated queues and Tesco branches in Cardiff and Belfast also reportedly saw scraps.
South Wales Police said they attended a supermarket twice with concerns over “customer conduct” and footage of chaotic scenes in Belfast showed people trying to wrestle discounted electrical goods off other shoppers.
Police in Manchester appealed for calm after arresting two people at Tesco and a branch in Stretford, Trafford, had to be closed after fights broke out and a woman was reportedly injured by a falling television.
The carnage looks set to continue as high street shops cross the UK open offering discounts as British retailers capitalise on the American tradition of Black Friday.
Let the madness begin!
Some of the worst scenes were caught on camera at Asda in Wembley, where people were seen fighting and falling over in the scramble for bargains.
Two guys had to be pulled apart in the electronics section. "I'll be outside mate," said the victor, brandishing his widescreen television.
It wasn't the only fight over a television...
Today really isn't a good day to work at Asda.
Even the pigeons were at it in Glasgow.
But people in Devon seemed very polite.
And at least one shopping centre was completely empty...for a while.
