Woman found dead in London with child and baby in suspected murder-suicide
Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide after the body of a woman, a child, and a baby were found in a flat in London.
The 33-year-old woman was found dead alongside two boys aged seven months and five years in Woodgrange Close, Brent, at around 5.30pm yesterday.
Neighbours believe the woman was the children’s mother and the father discovered the bodies at their family home.
Leslie Gotts, who has lived in Woodgrange Close for 18 years, said the family, who are believed to be of Sri Lankan origin, had lived in the first-floor flat for around a year.
Mr Gotts, 70, added: “I just couldn't believe what I was hearing. You freeze.
”It's a quiet road, a very mixed community. I think I only saw her once. She didn't look very unhappy to me.”
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said paramedics were originally called to reports of a woman and two children with injuries, but pronounced them dead at the scene.
He added: “The deaths of the two children are being treated as murder; the woman's death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
“Detectives are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.”
A spokesman for Brent Council said: "The family were known to the council but it would be inappropriate to comment further whilst the police investigation is at such an early stage."
A post-mortem examination of the woman was due to take place today and the others at a later date.
