A man has been stabbed inside a shopping centre in west London.

The victim, believed to be in his 20s, was found with multiple stab wounds at Westfield shopping centre in Shepherd’s Bush on Saturday.

Police say he was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to a west London hospital.

Details of the extent of his injuries have not yet been released.

A police cordon remains in place both inside and outside of the shopping centre following the attack shortly after 7pm.

A stop and search order is in effect for the whole of Hammersmith and Fulham and Kensington and Chelsea until 7am on Sunday.

It comes just hours after a man was found with stab wounds in Turner Street, Whitechapel, on Saturday.

Two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and have been taken into custody.

Police say the man is in a critical condition in hospital.

Three people are also recovering from stab wounds after a man armed with a large knife lunged at shoppers at Manchester’s Arndale centre on Friday morning.

A 40-year-old man has been detained under the Mental Health Act after being arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation and instigation of an act of terrorism.
