Two British men arrested on suspicion of rape in Magaluf
Island resort popular with UK tourists
Two British men have been arrested in Spain on suspicion of raping a teenager in the notorious holiday of resort Magaluf.
The unnamed 18-year-old woman, also from the UK, was allegedly attacked on Tuesday this week by two men.
Spain’s Guardia Civil, the police force operating on the infamous Spanish island popular with Britons, said they believed the attack occurred after the woman went with two men to a flat.
She was later taken to hospital, where she gave a description of the men who allegedly attacked her.
The Foreign Office confirmed to The Independent that two men, aged 18 and 19 years old, had been arrested and that assistance was being provided.
A spokesperson added: “We can confirmed an incident involving a British national on 19 August and are providing consular assistance.”
