Two arrested in Jimmy Savile sex investigation

The men - aged 64 and 74 - were arrested today at separate addresses in south London. Both have been taken into custody.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of sexual offences as part of the police investigation sparked by allegations of abuse against DJ Jimmy Savile.

The men - aged 64 and 74 - were arrested today at separate addresses in south London. Both have been taken into custody.

The men are the 15th and 16th people arrested as part of Operation Yewtree, the national police investigation into alleged sexual offences that was originally launched when claims were made against Savile.

Detectives have run the investigation in three strands - allegations involving Savile, those involving Savile and others, and those involving others.

The claims against both men arrested today are being dealt with under the "others" strand.
