Three detained over alleged murder of 'frail' 60-year-old man during home attack
Arthur Green was attacked in his home and died of chest and abdomen injuries
Three men have been arrested and held in connection with the death of a 60-year-old man whose body was found in his home in Scotland, police confirmed today.
The daughter of Arthur Green found him dead in his house in Prestwick at 8.10am on 20 November this year.
The suspects aged 33, 34 and 44 remain in police custody and they are expected to appear in Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday.
Police launched a murder inquiry earlier this month as a post-mortem examination showed he sustained injuries to the chest and abdomen.
Detective Chief Inspector Gary Boyd of the Major Investigation Team had said: “Arthur Green was a frail old man who needed a walking stick to get around.
“He was assaulted in his own home and died of his injuries.”
Green, who is said to be well-known in his local community, was last seen at about 22.30 the night before his body was found at the home on Pleasantfield Road.
