Police hunting for missing Sheffield teen Erika Kacicova confirm second man has been arrested
A 22-year-old man has already been held in search for the 13-year-old
Police investigating the disappearance of a 13-year-old girl have arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of child abduction.
The man, who was arrested in Bradford, West Yorkshire, is currently in police custody and is on his way to Sheffield to be interviewed by officers from the South Yorkshire force.
Concern has been mounting since Erika Kacicova went missing from her home in Darnall, Sheffield, a week ago tomorrow.
A 22-year-old man from Bradford who was arrested on suspicion of her abduction has now been released on bail. It is believed the teenager could be staying with friends in the West Yorkshire city.
Detective Inspector Helen Tate of South Yorkshire Police said that Erika’s lengthy disappearance was out of character and her family was distraught. She appealed for anyone with information to contact police.
“I really do plead that you get in touch with us and let us know so we can just ensure she’s safe. Erika’s not in trouble. There’s nothing that she’s done wrong.” she said.
Police said the 22-year-old man had come forward following Erika’s disappearance.
Erika, who is described as eastern European, was last seen last Monday. Police have urged her or anyone who knows of her whereabouts to contact them.
