Police arrest five after fatal stabbing

Five people were arrested yesterday after a man was found stabbed to death in Maidstone.

The 21-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, who were called to Sutton Road in the Kent town during the early hours of yesterday morning.

One man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, while another man and three women are also being held in connection with the incident.

Police believe the attack took place in Cornwall Close, a road near where he was found.

They also said that the victim, who has not been named but is reported to be from the Maidstone area, is believed to have known his attacker.

A post-mortem examination is yet to be carried out. PA
