Jealous man guilty of murdering stepson, 15

A pathologically jealous man who stabbed his 15-year-old stepson to death was today found guilty of his murder.

Carl Wayne Bowen, 42, of Grant Street, Llanelli, south Wales, stabbed Jamie Yeates 18 times in the unprovoked knife attack and left him bleeding to death.

A jury at Swansea Crown Court is still deliberating over charges against Bowen of attempting to murder Jamie's mother Maria and his teenage sister Kimberley.

It was Bowen's case that he was suffering an "abnormality of mind" at the time of the attacks in the early hours of 8 January.

Mr Justice Nigel Davis told the jury he could accept majority verdicts on the remaining charges.
