Husband questioned over car blast that injured woman
The husband of a pregnant woman seriously injured after her car exploded was being questioned today on suspicion of her attempted murder, sources said.
Nicholas Fabian, 32, was held after Victoria Fabian, believed to be 32, was hurt in the blast in a communal car park in the village of Vigo, near Meopham, Kent, just after 1pm yesterday.
Mrs Fabian was in a serious but not life threatening condition in Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford as detectives questioned her husband.
Police said that she was the sole occupant of the car when it exploded. According to unconfirmed reports, Mr Fabian is an Army bomb disposal expert who was expected to be posted to Afghanistan.
A Kent Police spokeswoman said today: "There were people in other cars at the time of the explosion but no-one else was hurt."
