Woman's chilling final Facebook post before she was found 'murdered'
'I don't want a perfect life I want a happy one' said 23-year-old mother of two before she was found dead at home
A 23-year-old mother of two spoke of wanting a “happy” life just days before she was found dead at her home in West Yorkshire.
The woman, named locally as Jessica King, was discovered at 3.15pm on Sunday in Halifax.
Ms King, who has two young daughters, has been described by neighbours as a “nice normal mum” and her death has rocked her local community.
Her neighbour Rita Martin, 58, told the Mail Online: “I saw the police van and wondered what was going on and then I saw a woman who must have been Jess' mother and she was just beside herself… It was heart breaking to watch. That's when I knew something really bad had happened.”
The young mum was an active Facebook user and had recently shared an image with the words: “I don't want a perfect life I want a happy one” along with a clapping emoji.
In her last ever post Ms King complained of the false nature of the social media site. She wrote: “How putting pictures and status on here can hide a lot!! All happy my a***! Can't stand those people that make out their all perfect!!”
Two men, aged 26 and 27 have since been arrested on suspicion of murder in Leeds in connection with her death.
Ms Martin said: “'It's devastating to think about. She had two little girls that are now without their mother. She was just a normal 23-year-old, it's too sad to think about.”
Detective Chief Inspector Jaz Khan who is leading the investigation, said: “Officers have made two arrests in connection with the investigation and those men remain in custody for questioning. I am still very much appealing for anyone who may have information or have seen suspicious behavior outside the address to come forwards."
