A man has been arrested on suspicious of murder after a woman and a baby were found dead at a home in Hackney.

A 45-year old woman and a 23-month-old baby girl were pronounced dead at the scene after Metropolitan police officers were alerted just after 9am this morning.

A 53-year-old man was found with non-life threatening injuries and taken to hospital. He was later arrested but remains in hospital in stable condition.

The victims are yet to be formally identified, and post-mortems will be held in due course.
