One of two men who escaped Pentonville Prison in London on Monday has been arrested

Matthew Baker, 28, is in custody after being found at an address in Ilford, in north-east London, police said.

A 33-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were also arrested at the scene.

Baker was in Pentonville prison awaiting sentencing for attempted murder.

His cellmate, 31-year-old James Whitlock was on remand after being charged on several counts of burglary and remains at large.

The pair broke out of the prison after stuffing their beds with pillows to make it appear they were asleep.

They used cutting equipment on bars and then scaled a perimeter wall.

On Wednesday, the Met Police renewed its appeal for information.
