Detectives release CCTV footage of main suspect in London sex worker murder
Detectives today released CCTV footage of the main suspect for the murder of a prostitute after he was spotted walking in central London five days after the killing.
Police believe that Robert Fraser, who is said to have mental health problems, has remained in London after the killing of Maria Duque-Tunjano and a linked attack on another sex worker ten days earlier.
The footage shows Mr Fraser, wearing a dark hooded top with his hands in his pockets, strolling down the pavement at an undisclosed location in central London on Sunday.
Ms Duque-Tunjano, 48, originally from Colombia, was last seen alive on Tuesday and her body was found on Friday at a flat in Earls Court, west London, that she used for her work. She had been beaten around the head with a weapon and money stolen from the studio flat, one of 18 in the block.
A man resembling Fraser was also caught on CCTV cameras outside the flat.
Police had already been searching for Mr Fraser, who is also known as Robert Aleem and Shia Robert Jackson, following an earlier attack on a sex worker in Paddington. She was also robbed but was not seriously hurt.
Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Wall said: “We have spoken to organisations with links to those who work in the sex industry to make them aware of this incident and pass on the message that personal safety of sex workers is of paramount importance.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8785 8244 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
