Adam Johnson guilty of final count of sexual activity with a child
The jury at Bradford Crown Court had earlier cleared Johnson of having oral sex with the 15-year-old claimant
Adam Johnson has been found guilty on a final count of sexual activity with a child.
The jury at Bradford Crown Court returned with a majority guilty verdict of 10-2 on the count of digital penetration.
The jury earlier cleared Johnson of having oral sex with the 15-year-old claimant.
Johnson had previously admitted grooming the girl and one count of sexual activity with a child on the first day of his trial.
He denied two further charges of sexual activity with a child that became the subject of the jury's deliberations.
The charges arose from a meeting between Johnson and the girl in his Range Rover in County Durham in January last year.
Johnson admitted kissing the girl, but told the jury the encounter "went no further".
But she told the court he "put his hands down her pants" and she performed oral sex on him - he has now been found guilty on the first charge but cleared of the second.
The Judge said Johnson faces up to 10 years in prison, with a starting point of five years.
He said: "The defendant must understand there is a very high probability of a significant custodial sentence."
Johnson has been bailed and will be sentenced at a later date. He will be under curfew from 7pm until 7am.
The Judge added: "I am admitting you bail so you can get your affairs in order and can say goodbye to your daughter.
"On account of your prison sentence you will not see her for some time."
