St Vincent came to understand Clickhole the hard way after insisting quotes attributed to her were untrue.

The indignant singer spotted a tweet from the satirical viral site promising to reveal what she, Sarah Palin and Ne-Yo have to say, with Clark’s “unprompted” ‘quote’ as follows: “Is a single shoelace any good for playing tug of war? No. Can it be a decent leash for a mouse? You bet. How about for tying a cruise liner to a dock? Of course not. Will it keep your cleats on your feet? That’s a no-brainer. Don’t even get me started on all the things two shoelaces can and can’t do.”

St Vincent quickly set about denying having ever made such a ludicrous statement, telling the site: "Never said any of those things because I am not the Mad Hatter."

Her followers were quick to leap into action with a quick explanation of exactly what Clickhole is.

Red-faced after having the concept of Clickhole explained to her, she made peace with it.
