The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh open the new Edinburgh Festival offices at the Hub; and give a Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. The Duke of Edinburgh opens the "Scotland's Art" exhibition at the City Arts Centre, Edinburgh; and, as Patron and Trustee of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, attends a charter member lunch at the Royal Bank of Scotland, St Andrew Square, Edinburgh. The Prince of Wales carries out engagements in the Isle of Wight. The Princess Royal, President, the Missions to Seamen, attends their annual service, luncheon and annual general meeting at St Michael Paternoster Royal, London EC4; and, as Patron, Sense - the National Deafblind and Rubella Association, attends a reception at Sea Containers House, London SE1. The Duke of Kent attends a dinner in aid of the Greater London Fund for the Blind at the Lanesborough Hotel, London SW1. Princess Alexandra presides at ceremonies for the conferment of degrees and honorary degrees at Lancaster University.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am.
