The actor played a number of different character extras in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, most notably the alien Nien Nunb and a number of different Storm Troopers.
He was an expert horseman and swordsman, who served for 12 years as the head coach at the Truro Fencing Club, eventually becoming the president in 2007.
“We are sad to announce the sudden passing of our President & former Head Coach Richard Bonehill,” the club announced on Twitter.
“A great leader & an inspiration.”
A sci-fi stalwart, Bonehill also worked on Flash Gordon, Highlander, and Doctor Who.
