Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

If I weren't talking to you right now I'd be... catching up on some sleep or playing with my son.
A phrase I use far too often is... people say I use “no doubt about it” very often.
I wish people would take more notice of... poverty. It's a curse to mankind.
A common misperception of me is... I really don’t know. I am like an open book.
The most surprising thing about me is... that I haven’t won the lottery yet!
I'm not a politician but... I can’t change anything in this country - it’s already done.
I'm good at... gardening. I have green fingers but time is an issue.
But I'm very bad at... lying. I always get caught lying so I try not to. Then people tell me I'm too blunt!
My ideal night out is... anything would be fun at the moment as I have two toddlers at home. Where are those good old days?
In moments of weakness I... turn to my faith and my karmas.
In a truer life I'd have been... a doctor. I was born Asian!
The best age to be is... for me, every age has its beauty but a newborn is the best. Everybody loves you.
In a nutshell, my philosophy is... you can do anything if you believe you can.
