Mia Farrow's son Thaddeus dies aged 27

Thaddeus was discovered inside of his vehicle suffering from a life-threatening injury

Mia Farrow’s son Thaddeus Wilk Farrow has died from injuries sustained in a car accident. He was 27.

Thaddeus was discovered inside of his vehicle on Wednesday in Danbury in Connecticut suffering from a life-threatening injury, according to a police report obtained by People magazine.

He was transported to Danbury Hospital and pronounced dead at 2:30pm. Law enforcement has said there was no foul play involved in the death.

Farrow, who is best known for her roles in John and Mary and The Great Gatsby, adopted Thaddeus when he was aged 12 in 1994 from an orphanage in Calcutta, India after she divorced Woody Allen. He was a paraplegic due to polio.

Thaddeus was one of 10 children the 71-year-old actress adopted, including Soon-Yi Previn who is now married to Allen. Thaddeus was named after Elliott Wilk, the judge who oversaw Farrow's 1993 legal battle with Allen. Two of her adopted children, Tam and Lark, are deceased.

Thaddeus spoke about being adopted by the actress and thrust into the word of Hollywood in a 2013 interview with Vanity Fair. “It was scary to be brought to a world of people whose language I did not understand, with different skin colors,” he said. “The fact that everyone loved me was a new experience, overwhelming at first.”

Speaking about the Christmas prior to the interview which took place, Thaddeus, who walked with crutches or used a wheelchair, recounted how he finally felt able to express his emotions. “I came back at Christmas time to tell Mia, ‘I know I never really said thank you, Mom.’ I just let out emotions I would never let myself express. Finally I was able to.”

At the time Thaddeus had been training to become a police officer.

Farrow has yet to release a statement on the news of his death. A representative for Farrow did not immediately respond to request for comment.
