2 February: The Princess Royal this morning opened the Horserace Betting Levy Board's fifth Quinquennial Veterinary Conference at the Royal Society, 6 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1, and was received by the Chairman of the Levy Board (Sir John Sparrow).

Mrs Charles Ritchie was in attendance.

Her Royal Highness, President, International Equestrian Federation, this afternoon held a Meeting of the Executive Board at Buckingham Palace.

The Princess Royal, Royal Bencher, the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple, accompanied by Commander Timothy Laurence RN, this evening attended a Mixed Dining Night at the Inner Temple, London EC4, and was received by the Treasurer (the Right Hon Sir John May).

KENSINGTON PALACE

2 February: The Princess of Wales, Patron, Help the Aged, this morning visited the Refugee Support Centre Elderly Project, King George's House, Young Men's Christian Association, Stockwell Road, Stockwell, London SW9.

Captain Edward Musto RM was in attendance.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Sense, the National Deaf-Blind and Rubella Association, opens Jenny Chapman House, Stevenage, Hertfordshire; as President, Save the Children Fund, visits the Save the Children Shop, Hitchin, Hertfordshire; as Patron, National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, visits the Bureau, Tooke House, Hertford, and opens the new premises in celebration of its 21st anniversary; and as President of Patrons of Crime Concern, attends a presentation of Effective Youth Crime Prevention Programmes, at the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, London SW1. Princess Margaret attends a Gala Performance of The Kingfisher at the Redgrave Theatre, Farnham, in aid of the 'Save the Redgrave' Appeal. Princess Alexandra visits the new Hornsey Centre for cerebral palsied children, Dukes Avenue, London N10.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion The Kings Regiment mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the King's Regiment.
