Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Unlike most stars who are muzzled on social media by their high profiles, Chrissy Teigen is unafraid of airing her views, taking on critics or sparring with the likes of Donald Trump.
In her latest riposte, the model challenged those leaving comments on her Instagram page about her body after sharing a picture of her Sports Illustrated magazine shoot.
Teigen shared one picture taken from her shoot of herself in swimwear. In a second image from the shoot, she added: “The @si_swimsuit edition is on stands tooooo-day! (Shoutout to everyone dissecting every little part of my bod in the last comment thread, you're all really wonderful, kind, flawless beauties - I can tell from your pages!!”
Teigen, who is expecting a baby with her husband John Legend, also demonstrated her knack for shutting down misdirected disapproval in December after one questioned her in a now-deleted tweet asking: “Doesn’t anyone get married before starting a family?“
In October, she resorted to telling followers to “get out of my uterus” after being bombarded with tweets suggesting she could be carrying twins because of one picture of her stomach.
