From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Chris Pratt has proven that he doesn't just tame Velociraptors in Jurassic World, he tames small children in hospital pretending to be Velociraptors, too.

According to Reddit user Chrysias, Pratt visited Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this weekend, and lifted the spirits of the children there.

The user posted a picture of Pratt standing with his hands reaching out to the three children, who are all stood facing him, in what appears to be a re-enactment of the raptor training scene from Jurassic World that sparked a new meme.

“I’m lucky enough to work with a philanthropy that benefits the hospital and I know these kids and their families were absolutely over the moon to have him visit,” Chrysias wrote.

“Considering he’s here filming another project and probably had a million other things he could be doing, it’s really great of him to spend his Saturday at the hospital,” the user added.

Zoo keepers have been recreating their own versions of the scene in a variety of instances, snapping themselves fending off a range of animals, from rhinoceroses and cheetahs to the already quite tame animals such as giraffes, otters and penguins, but Pratt topped the list with this image.
