Your support makes all the difference.Almost two months ago Kim Kardashian-West indulged in a rare Twitter tirade after receiving criticism for posting a nude selfie.
Bette Midler and Piers Morgan felt her wrath as did Chloë Grace Moretz who has now called the exchange “aggressive”.
In March, Moretz tweeted to Kardashian-West: “I truly hope you realise how important setting goals are for young women. Teaching them we have so much more to offer than just our bodies.”
The 35-year-old replied with the following:
Moretz explained to Glamour she sent the tweet because she doesn’t believe the picture was linked to body positivity and also denied she body-shamed or slut-shamed the reality TV star and businesswoman
“I had just gotten off a plane from South Korea, I was incredibly jet-lagged, and I couldn’t take one more thing. I saw that photo, and I had to say something. That picture wasn’t linked to body confidence. It wasn’t a #BodyConfidence or #LoveWhoYouAre. It was done in a slightly voyeuristic light, which I felt was a little inappropriate for young women to see,” she said
“I would hate for young women to feel they need to post certain photos in order to gain likes, retweets, favourites, and male attention. I wasn’t slut-shaming. It’s not about body shaming.”
The 19-year-old admitted she was surprised Kardashian-West responded, a response she labelled “aggressive and incorrect”.
“I don’t have 45 million followers or a TV show that follows my life. But people know who I am. I pride myself on having opinions, and I don’t express them in a snarky way towards people.”
The Bad Neighbours 2 star also explained how her mother deemed the tweet “girl-on-girl hate”.
Moretz did go on to praise the essay Kardashian-West penned on body positivity and slut-shaming but deemed it a little too late.
