The 22-year-old daughter of Annie Lennox, Tali, has been rescued from the Hudson River after she and her boyfriend Ian Jones were involved in a kayaking accident.

Jones, 32, a photographer, is currently missing.

The pair had been kayaking in the Hudson River near the Staatsburgh State Historic Site in Upstate New York on Saturday morning when their tandem kayak capsized, according to authorities.

Artist Lennox was reportedly picked up by a passing vessel, but Jones, who has been described as her long-term partner, was not found.

Captain John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s office said: “We believe that alcohol may have played a role,” the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.

Authorities searched for Jones over a period of 12 hours from around 10am on Saturday until river conditions made the search difficult, the newspaper reported, and began the search again at 7:30am on Sunday morning.

Watterson said that neither Lennox nor Jones was wearing a life jacket. He added that the incident does not appear to be criminal in nature.

Lennox was not injured and not taken to hospital, the newspaper reported.
