Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The Independent's sister newspaper, the London Evening Standard, has won two of the most prestigious accolades in publishing, being named Media Brand of the Year and also receiving the Grand Prix Gold at the Media Week awards.

The Standard beat the Financial Times, YouTube, Spotify and The Sun to win Brand of the Year at Thursday night's Grosvenor House ceremony.

It took the Grand Prix, which is awarded to the best media organisation across all prize categories, by beating Channel 4, the Telegraph Media Group and Guardian News & Media.

The judges said in their citation that the Standard had "quite simply ... stunned the market. Not just for the act of going free, but because editorial quality has been maintained, circulation has almost trebled and advertisers have responded favourably.

"Here is a media brand restored to health."

The Standard is owned by the Lebedev family, which also owns Independent Print Limited, the parent company of The Independent and The Independent on Sunday.
