Millions of students will be able to study free of charge online with many of Britain's leading universities as a result of an initiative announced tomorrow.
The plan is the brainchild of the Open University, which has set up Futurelearn Ltd, to offer students across the world a wide range of courses, possibly with members of the Russell Group – the top research universities – but at the very least with leading institutions.
