SSE to bid for wind farms

Scottish & Southern Energy, RWE and two Norwegian energy companies – Statkraft and StatoilHydro – have joined forces to bid for licences to develop wind farms. The Forewind consortium will enter the third round of auctions being run by the Crown Estate. Round Three zones are even further out to sea than current wind farm developments, presenting major challenges with regards to both technology and costs.
