Output down at Glencore-Xstrata

Glencore and Xstrata have posted a drop in combined output across key metals, as the two commodities giants continue to finalise their $36bn (£23bn) merger.

Total copper production fell 9 per cent and zinc dipped 1 per cent as a result of power cuts in Congo, bad weather and efforts to replace ageing operations.
