A taste from each of Caprice-owner Richard Caring's poshest restaurants – the chocolate cake from Annabel's or grissini and polpetta from Harry's Bar – will be on sale to the public when he opens his new Mount Street Deli on Wednesday.

Across the road from Scott's, the new Deli serves dishes and products from Caring's legendary private clubs as well as delicacies from Italy and around Britain. The Deli at 100 Mount Street was created by its manager, Hannah Gutteridge, and the head chef, Mary Lewis.

The clientele will include not just the ladies who lunch, but also Mayfair's hedge fund traders on their power breakfasts. And Ms Gutteridge has arranged a delivery service for those too busy to leave their desks for Caprice's top dishes. She also has a treat for coffee connoisseurs, a Sicilian brand so good – possibly the best in the world – that it's even drunk at the Italian embassy.
