Dating app Bumble booted a so-called 'white nationalist' off its platform on Wednesday after a user took to Twitter to complain about the man.

Bumble user Lindsey Ledford tweeted screenshots of Jack Posobiec’s profile and asked whether the app was a “place where white nationalists / Nazis go to cheat on their wives?”

The app, which lets women make the first move on a match, responded by deleting Mr Posobiec’s profile and announced his removal via social media.

“We are so grateful to you, Lindsey, for bringing this to our attention", said Bumble. "Our team has removed Jack from our platform. Bumble was founded on the core values of kindness, respect, integrity and equality, and we do not tolerate anyone who does not uphold these values on our platform.”

Mr Posobiec, a ‘Conservative Christian’ and author of a book on why America backed Donald Trump, denied ever having an account on the progressive-dating app and claimed he had been a victim of identity fraud and would be “filing an identify [sic] theft report with the FBI over fraudulent accounts”.

Bumble confirmed on Thursday that the account was tied to Mr Posobiec’s real Facebook profile.

It’s not the first time Bumble has taken a stand against white supremacists and neo-nazis.

The dating app said in August that it would crack down on hate speech in the wake of violent protests in Charlottesville, which saw 32-year old Heather Heyer killed after clashes between anti-racist protestors and alt-right demonstrators.

Fellow dating app OKCupid booted white supremacist Chris Cantwell off its platform in August and publicly named him on Twitter within 10 minutes of verifying his identity.
