US STOCKS fell with bonds after a government report showed that retail sales rose more than expected last month, increasing concerns that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates to slow the economy.
"The economic numbers have made some people take money off the table," said one analyst.
The Nasdaq index dropped 85.95, or 2.35 per cent, to 3,572.22. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 30.58, or 0.27 per cent, to 11,162.01.
