US STOCKS fell, led by companies such as DuPont that depend most on the economy, amid expectations that growth will slow as interest rates rise.

The Dow Jones fell 94.35, or 0.9 per cent, to 10,721.63 in its second decline after last week's 3.5 per cent advance. The Standard & Poor's 500 index lost 13.12, or 1 per cent, to 1.335.88. The Nasdaq index dropped 50.02, or 1.9 per cent, to 2,580.26, ending a five-day winning streak in which it rose almost 10 per cent.
