The National Lottery celebrates the start of its third year with its third Superdraw, which automatically doubles the jackpot to a guaranteed pounds 20m, to titillate palates jaded by a series of rollover jackpots.

Two more long losing sequences ended last Saturday, with 24 and 49 back in the winning frame, together with two of the less frequent winners, 8 and 27, while 43 won for the second week running. Number 22 takes over as the longest losing sequence
