Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The deal
Insurance4everyone.co.uk is offering up to £2,500 worth of cover for handbags and contents, including 60 days' worldwide protection. There are also options to insure money, credit cards and mobile phones.
The good points
Having to claim after being a victim of a handbag thief can be a real pain as you may need to prove the value of the bag and contents. This policy offers cover for any bag carried. Also, as a stand-alone policy, claiming won't mean losing no-claims discounts on home cover.
The bad points
It's not cheap. Premiums start at £5.05 for just £800-worth of cover. £2,500-worth of cover costs from £19.99 a month.
Conclusion
This is clearly aimed at the many people who carry expensive gadgets around. But do you need to pay out for extra cover? Many household policies include cover for contents outside the home so check with your existing insurer to see if you're already covered. If not, ask how much they'd charge to add it to your policy. It may be cheaper.
