From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. The mother of all moodboards, it’s fair to say that brides-to-be spend a lot of time scouring the ‘visual bookmarking’ website for wedding inspiration – 40 million every year in fact – on everything from invitations, bridesmaid dresses and decorations.
But when it comes to engagement rings, to-be-weds have hailed a simple solitaire as the most popular style ever with an impressive 103,900 saves, the Daily Mail reports.
While it might be a classic choice, the ring which belongs to Sylvia Billone, is anything but ordinary.
Art Deco in style, the solitaire ring is 1.22 karats with a two-millimetre-width super-trendy rose gold band – feminine, rosy shade that flatters all skin tones
Sharing details of the ring online, Billone, who also wears a custom-designed wedding band, says that she too looked to Pinterest for inspiration before having the ring designed.
Last year, the top spot for most popular engagement ring of 2016 was held by a dazzling diamond ring called the ‘Verragio Venetian’, designed by American Jewellers Raymond Lee.
With more than 63,000 pins on wedding-themed boards the ring featured a pave set diamond and twisted split shank with lace embellishments.
